A member of Upsalafandom (one 'p' because Johan Anglemark likes archaisms) posted this link to the European Space Agency about an hour ago http://www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Operations/Russia_asteroid_impact_ESA_update_and_assessment

I guess this ends any remaining mystery over the Tunguska event, which had inspired some interesting stories, eg. Chekhov's Story by Ian Watson.

I quite liked the Facebook 'meme' - a mocked up news report with the comment 'BABY FOUND AT IMPACT SITE UNHARMED AND WRAPPED IN WHAT SEEMS TO BE A RED CAPE'.

Can't recall the title or author, but I have a feeling IZ ran a story many years ago in which Kal-El landed in the USSR instead of the USA.

Are you thinking of the Red Son comicbook?

No, not those Tony.

For some reason I'm thinking the writer was Stephen Baxter, but if so then the story was probably "Good News", which didn't appear in IZ and I don't recall being set in the USSR, though it did reference Superman, so one out of three
