... as it did with Russia v Greece. What a turn up! When was the last time a team won a group with negative goal difference? |

Depressingly, I now have to put my full support behind England. As if I didn't have enough grey hairs already! ![]() |

Tonight will be interesting, conspiracy buffs. Will the Spain/Croatia game finish a unlikely 2-2? Will Trapattoni's Ireland, with nothing to play for, suffer a terrible collapse? |

My daughter's just pointed out that Shay Given is the double of Ollie Murs. |

I thought Croatia were a bit unlucky to get nothing out of that game. Enjoy spending my money, whoever it ends up with. |

Croatia were indeed unlucky. I wish England could defend that well! |

Croatia were desperately unlucky, Stephen. I'm not looking forward to Scotland having to play them when the World Cup qualifiers come around. |

Jim - did you have to spoil a grand competition by mentioning the S__ word? Really? C'mon, it's the only chance I have a t the moment to find a scrap of enjoyment in the game. (And if you bring the R__ word into it, there'll be violence, I promise you!) |

These final group games are proving really dramatic, aren't they? Love that there's something to play for for almost everyone, and that a goal here or there can change everything. For a good while last night we were a goal away from Spain going out. Spain! Going out! And tonight will be exactly the same. |

Neil - You're perfectly safe. This may be a science fiction and fantasy forum but when it comes to football I only talk about teams that actually exist in the real world. ![]() |
