It's all a bit complicated, but basically they're posting a story of up to 1000 words by a Bloomsbury author on their website each month, and competitors are invited to submit their own story on the same theme. Open only to UK authors, excluding Northern Ireland.

Summary on the Bookdagger website.

And full rules etc on Bloomsbury site:-

Bloomsbury will announce OVERALL WINNER during National Short Story Week in November 2012. The overall winner will win a place at the Writers and Artists Yearbook conference for 2013 and a Weekend Rover Ticket for the Theakston’s Old Peculiar Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate (2103).

Such confidence in the future of Theakston’s Old Peculiar and the Crime Writing Festival and Harrogate tempts me to place an accumulator on the forecast but I'd have to change my will so maybe not.

I should be Pete but all our enquiries are ignored, aside from which 113 won't be out until 2153 (ish)
