It's all a bit complicated, but basically they're posting a story of up to 1000 words by a Bloomsbury author on their website each month, and competitors are invited to submit their own story on the same theme. Open only to UK authors, excluding Northern Ireland.

Such confidence in the future of Theakston’s Old Peculiar and the Crime Writing Festival and Harrogate tempts me to place an accumulator on the forecast but I'd have to change my will so maybe not.
