Thanks, Des.

I think Interaction was regenerating when this issue came out... It features our last seven mini-fictions from Rhys Hughes in “The Delusions and Tangents of Thornton Excelsior”, Lewis Gesner's strange little fable “The Journey of Toil Ling; a Folkish Tale”, a man coping with memories of off-world troubles in “Homecoming” by Mitchell Edgeworth, and thirty-odd pages of reviews by Howard Watts, Jacob Edwards, John Greenwood, Douglas J. Ogurek and me. Cover art is by Howard Watts and interior art is by Ben Ludlam.

This 102pp issue is available in all the usual formats, all free except the print edition, which we’ve priced as cheaply as possible. (Just £2.59 at present!) More information here.

Theaker's 42 is now out, featuring stories by Sophia-Karin Psarras, Mitchell Edgeworth and R.M. Fradkin, plus reviews by Jacob Edwards, Stephen Theaker and Howard Watts. It's free on Kindle for the next few days, and the print version's now from Amazon rather than Lulu, so no more of those pesky postage charges if you use Super Saver Delivery...

More info here.

To tie in with the new issue, we've also made a pair of our older books available free on Kindle: The Mercury Annual and Quiet, the Tin Can Brains Are Hunting!

Stephen, how did you get Amazon to list it for free?
I tried to list my zombie novella 'They Feed On Flesh' as free
in line with the Smashwords' edition and it is still listed as the
priced version. I even pointed out it was free elsewhere yet they
haven't changed it :(

Sorry, I haven't managed to get them to price-match either - I'd tried it with previous issues.

With this one, we've not made the ebook available anywhere else. That's let us enroll it with KDP Select, and so we can use promotions to offer it for free for 5 days, every 90 days. So the plan is to make the Kindle back issues free when each new quarterly issue comes out. I'd much rather it was free all the time, with us being an amateur zine, but our feeling is that it's probably worth the compromise to tap into the Kindle market...

We'll see how the numbers stack up over the next few months.

There is a test, file I used on TTA's Smashwords and Amazon Kindle pages, called Neutrino CAT. I made it free on Smashwords but Kindle wouldn't allow that so I set it at 99c. The description does state it is a test file. After a week or so the price on Amazon.com went to zero, presumably because it was free on Smashwords. However the Amazon.co.uk price is still £0.77 and someone actually bought a copy last month.

If the purchaser is reading this I'm sorry about that.

I always let Kindle set prices automatically based on the US price. Did you do that?

That's interesting to know...

I usually do, but couldn't with this issue - converting the US price would have left the UK price below the minimum. The file was pretty big, probably because I didn't bother resizing the book covers, and that pushes up the minimum price.

Theaker's Quarterly Fiction #43 is now out. This issue features five sf stories: "Diving Bird" by Madeleine Beresford, "Through the Ages" by Gary Budgen, "Quasar Rise" by Douglas Thompson, "Dodge Sidestep’s Dastardly Plan" by Howard Watts, and "Flight" by Mitchell Edgeworth, plus my accidentally topical editorial about leaving Facebook, and two dozen reviews from Jacob Edwards, Douglas R. Ogurek, Howard Watts, John Greenwood, Harsh Grewal and me. The cover is by Howard, illustrating his own short story.

It's available for free download in epub, mobi and pdf formats from our blog, while print and Kindle versions are available for purchase on Amazon. More info here.

Super - thanks for that. For a minute there, we were just short of the top ten in Amazon's SF short story bestsellers list! Hope you enjoy it.
