Black Static

New Horror Fiction BLACK STATIC ISSUE 71 OUT NOW!

A Lock Launch

25th Oct, 2010

Author: Peter Tennant

This week everything White Noise(ish) is about Halloween, and quite rightly so, but there are some devious people who wish to steal a march on the rest of us by launching their book ahead of the sacred day.

By devious people, I mean Screaming Dreams publisher Steve Upham and Welsh writer Bob Lock, author of The Empathy Effect, which may very well be the first English language book to feature a traffic warden as a hero.

Most of us will, of course, be staying indoors on the evening of Wednesday the 27th of October and watching the Halloween themed episode of Poirot (I use the term 'most of us' in its loosest sense), but if you're in Swansea the place to be is the Discovery Room at Swansea Library on Oystermouth Road, which is just after the Marina (link to a map below), where between the hours of 17:30 and 20:00 p.m. the aforementioned Upham and Lock will be launching The Empathy Effect on an unsuspecting world. There'll be readings and free refreshments, and noted fantasy author Rhys Hughes will also be in attendance and could possibly do a reading. Enjoy.

And don't forget to send all your horror news to whitenoise@ttapress.com
