Black Static #60, our tenth anniversary issue, is in the post at this very moment and may even have dropped down onto a doormat or two. Andy has already listed the full contents of the magazine, including the books reviewed in the Case Notes section, but I'm a creature of habit and so will do my usual reveal, however belatedly.

Here's what we've got for you this time around:-

WRITTEN ON THE LAND ITSELF: DANIEL MILLS

In-depth reviews of the novella The Account of David Stonehouse, Exile and the novel Moriah plus an interview with the author.

FOUR BOOKS BY ALISON LITTLEWOOD

Guest reviews by Stephen Theaker of three novels by Alison Littlewood, A Cold Silence, Zombie Apocalypse!: Acapulcalypse Now and The Hidden People, and of the short story collection Five Feathered Tales

ANCIENT & MODERN: JEFFREY THOMAS

Reviews of two short story collections by Jeffrey Thomas, Ghosts of Punktown and Haunted Worlds, one recent and the other somewhat long in the tooth, hence the A&M title.

SHORT STORY COLLECTIONS

Reviews of two short story collections, The Dream Operator by Mike O'Driscoll and Escape Plans by David Sakmyster.

That's ten titles reviewed for our tenth anniversary issue, four of them written by women, taking our tally for the year so far to sixty eight titles reviewed and thirty of them either written or edited by women (44%).

The corresponding figures for books received is one hundred and three titles, thirty seven of which have a female by-line (36%).

With sixty eight titles reviewed so far in 2017, we have already exceeded the 2016 body count of sixty, and my 'stretch goal' for the final issue of 2017 (#61, due out in November) is to pass the 2015 tally of eighty six titles reviewed. Will I make it? Watch this space.
