Black Static #52 will shortly be heading off to the printers, if it hasn't done so already, and mailing out to subscribers in early May, a month with two bank holidays and so more spare time for reading. Andy will here shortly to reveal the full contents, but in the meantime, as is my standard operating procedure, I am here to reveal what books get reviewed in the Case Notes section of the magazine this time around.

Here's what we've got for you:-

FRACTURED REALITY: PAUL MELOY

An in-depth review of Paul Meloy's first novel The Night Clock, and a lengthy interview with the author.

NB: Black Static took its name from the title of one of Meloy's stories.

LITTLE MONSTERS

Reviews of three insect themed titles, Insect Literature by Lafcadio Hearn, Teeming Terrors edited by Christine Morgan, and Creeping Crawlers edited by Allen Ashley.

THE SILVER SCREAM

Reviews of six film related books, Stanley Kubrick's The Shining: Studies in the Horror Film edited by Danel Olson, The Making of George A. Romero's Day of the Dead by Lee Karr, Film Gutter Volume 1 by Alex Davis, Halloween  by Murray Leeder, The Curse of Frankenstein by Marcus K. Harmes, and The Blair Witch Project  by Peter Turner.

That's ten titles reviewed this issue, one of them edited by a woman, which takes our tally for the year so far to thirty four titles reviewed and nine of them either written or edited by women (26%).
